Whale

A buyer who spends far more than the room average and can change the economics of a show on their own.

A whale is a buyer whose spending is in a different league from the rest of the room: the person who takes the top spots in every break, wins the big auctions, and can turn an average show into a great one by showing up. The term comes from casino and gaming culture and is standard vocabulary across live selling.

Whales earn attention, and smart sellers treat them like the regulars they are: greet them by name, remember what they collect, and make sure their orders ship flawlessly. The operational version of that instinct is knowing who your top buyers actually are across every show, not just recognizing a username in chat. That is buyer history and spend tracking, which is exactly the kind of thing a real back office keeps for you.
