Ship window (handling time)

The ship window is the time between an order being placed and that order being handed to the carrier. Sellers also call it handling time, and buyers experience it as the gap between paying and seeing tracking move. It is counted from the sale, not from when you start packing, which is why a Sunday night show and a Wednesday pack-out are a problem even when nothing has gone wrong.

The required window is set by Whatnot as policy and it can change, so check Whatnot's current seller shipping requirements for the number that applies to your account rather than trusting a figure from a forum post. What does not change is the consequence of missing it: late shipments hurt your seller metrics, generate support messages, and turn buyers who would have come back into buyers who do not.

Combined shipping interacts with this directly. Waiting for a buyer's other wins to settle so everything ships in one box is good practice, but it spends the same window, so the two have to be planned together rather than one at a time.
