Payout
The transfer of your sales earnings out of the platform and into your bank account, after fees and anything else owed have been taken off.
A payout is the money leaving the platform and arriving in your bank account. Whatnot takes payment from the buyer at checkout, holds it while the order settles, subtracts its fees and anything else owed, and transfers the remainder to the bank account you have linked for payouts. The total on a show's sales screen is not the number that lands, and the difference is not an error.
Two things catch new sellers out. The first is timing: money does not become payable the moment the hammer falls, so a big show does not mean a big balance the same evening. The second is that payouts cover a period rather than an order, so trying to match one sale to one deposit rarely works. Reconcile a payout against the window of orders it covers.
Payout timing, thresholds and the schedule itself are Whatnot policy and they change, so check Whatnot's current seller payout documentation rather than a number quoted in a group chat. What does not change is the arithmetic sitting underneath it, which our guide to Whatnot seller fees works through line by line.
